Milk vs. Dark Chocolate

Jan 2nd 2017

Everyone's heard of the health benefits of dark chocolate. If you haven't, you've probably been living under a rock. But what about milk chocolate? Is that anything to talk about? The real good cravings that we all have for that creamy milky chocolate. Are we doing our body any good with that?

Studies have shown that dark chocolate is rich in flavanoids and antioxidants that help prevent heart disease, as related in a previous Miami Beach Chocolates blog post. But what about milk chocolate? Researchers at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland did a study and found that those who ate the most chocolate, most of it being milk chocolate, over an average of 11.3 years, had a lower risk of coronary heart disease than those who ate less or none. They also made sure to point out that it could simply be that healthier people ate more chocolate.

So although milk chocolate does have health benefits, as with everything, it should be eaten in moderation :)
